Man Tragically Killed in Tree-Trimming Accident in Pinellas County, Florida
PINELLAS COUNTY, FL. – According to a news story reported online at wfla.com, a man was tragically killed in a tree-trimming accident that occurred in Pinellas County, Florida. It is not yet clear how the accident happened, and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the matter further, according to the report.*
The accident occurred while a worker was in the process of cutting a tree at a private residence. The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office and WFLA report that a man was performing tree services at a home by Deer Hound Way and Wetherington Way in Dunedin, Florida. He was working for Tree Impressions, LLC, at the time.
The news report says he was using a chainsaw to cut the tree, and the tree began to fall. It is not completely clear what happened next, but the report says that the man walked under the falling tree, and the tree fell on top of him. It is unclear if the tree fell in a way that the man did not anticipate or if the man did not observe which way the tree was falling. It is not clear why he crossed into the falling tree’s path.
WFLA says that the tree fell onto the man’s head, and emergency responders took him to Mease Dunedin Hospital, where he tragically died from his injuries. He was identified as a 21-year-old man.
