Jet Ski Accident in St. Johns County, Florida, Leaves Three People Injured

ST JOHNS COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news story reported at, a jet ski accident that occurred in St. Johns County, Florida, left three people with injuries. The cause of the accident and the circumstances surrounding the accident have not been reported, and the three victims have not yet been identified, according to the report.* 

The accident happened during the afternoon, near to the St. Augustine Inlet. The St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, and The Florida Times-Union report that at about 2 p.m., three people were involved in a jet ski accident in the area about two miles away from the inlet. It is not clear how the accident happened or why. The report did not say if the jet ski crashed into something or if it overturned in the water.

At least one of the people on the jet ski ended up in the water following the crash. According to the news report, passersby who were in a pontoon boat stopped and pulled this person out of the water. The report says this person was in cardiac arrest at the time, and one of the good Samaritans performed CPR while the pontoon traveled toward the shore. 

At the shore, first responders took over CPR and were reportedly able to achieve spontaneous breathing before the person was transported to Orange Park Medical Center. The person was not identified and is said to be in critical condition. 

In addition, The Florida Times-Union reports that the two other people were injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their injuries are reportedly non-life threatening, and one of them has since been released. Neither was identified in the report. 

Deputies and officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission are still investigating the accident.
