Motorcyclist Tragically Killed in Collision on S.R. 121 in Baker County, Florida
BAKER COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news story reported at actionnewsjax.com, a motorcyclist was tragically killed in a collision that happened on State Road 121 in Baker County, Florida. The crash reportedly involved just one vehicle. Investigating officials have not yet identified the victim.*
The wreck reportedly took place close to the intersection of State Road 121 and Shirley Road in Baker County. It is not clear what time of day the accident happened. Florida Highway Patrol and Action News Jax report that a motorcycle was traveling in the area and somehow crashed. It is not clear what direction that motorcycle had been headed at the time, and the make and model of the motorcycle were not reported.
The report does not say what events led to the collision, though the news article does say that it was a single-vehicle wreck. No other vehicles except the motorcycle were involved. Investigators responding to the scene did not immediately say what factors might have been involved in the wreck or what circumstances might have contributed to the crash.
Action News Jax reports that the person riding on the motorcycle was tragically killed in the crash. He was not identified in the news report. It does not appear that he had any passengers riding on the motorcycle with him when the accident happened.
Florida Highway Patrol is managing the investigation of the case. Following the accident, Troopers out of Jacksonville posted a message to social media, saying, “Baker County Fatal: Single vehicle crash, SR 121 [at] Shirley Road. Motorcycle Down. Rider deceased on scene. Roadblock in area. Please seek alternate route.”
