Two People Injured in Wreck on I-95 in Miami-Dade County, Florida

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news story reported at, two people were injured in a wreck that happened on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Limited information about the accident has been reported at this time, and the people involved have not been identified by investigators.*

The accident happened close to Palmetto Expressway on the northbound side of I-95. The report says it occurred during the morning, though the specific time of day was not provided. Florida Highway Patrol and WSVN report that a vehicle was headed north and somehow crashed near this area of the roadway. The make and model of the vehicle were not listed in the report. The report did not say if any other vehicles were involved or what events led to the accident. 

It is unclear if the vehicle exited the roadway or if it crashed in a lane of travel. The nature of the accident and the circumstances surrounding the collision were not reported. WSVN says that following the wreck, the two occupants of the vehicle were trapped inside and had to be freed by first responders. Florida Highway Patrol and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue went to the scene.

WSVN reports that both of the people inside the vehicle were injured and had to be transported to area hospitals for emergency treatment. Neither person was identified, and the extent of each person’s injuries was not reported. It appears these people were the only occupants of the vehicle at the time of the accident. 

Florida Highway Patrol will be handling the investigation, and Troopers had not released additional information regarding the accident at the time that the news report for WSVN was published online. It is not clear at this time whether anyone will be cited or will face charges in connection with the vehicle accident.
