Several Vehicle Accidents Reported During One Weekend in Manatee County, Florida

MANATEE COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report posted at, several vehicle accidents were reported during one weekend in Manatee County, Florida. Several people were injured in these accidents, and one person was tragically killed, according to the news report.*

One of the accidents occurred when a 1994 Toyota Camry turned into the path of an oncoming vehicle at the intersection of Arbor Oaks and Fruitville Road in Sarasota. The Bradenton Herald reports that the driver of the Toyota was tragically killed in the accident. The two people inside the other vehicle were not injured, according to the news report. 

The next accident involved four vehicles and occurred on State Road 674, near Interstate 75. This accident also happened during the course of a turn, and two vehicles collided. The impact forced one of the vehicles into a Florida Highway Patrol vehicle. One of the wheels on the patrol vehicle flew off during the crash and collided with a fourth vehicle, according to the report. 

The Bradenton Herald reports that the drivers of the first two vehicles and the Trooper were transported to local hospitals with injuries. The two drivers were said to be in serious condition. 

The third crash happened by the crossing of Verna Bethany Road and Gopher Hill Road in Manatee County. Again, this crash involved a turn into the path of another vehicle. A driver reportedly turned in front of another vehicle, causing the two vehicles to crash. 

The driver of the second vehicle, identified as being 21 years old, was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. The driver of the first vehicle, identified as being 16 years old, was also taken to the hospital. Two 16-year-old passengers were also riding in the first vehicle, but they reportedly did not require medical attention beyond the scene.
