Head-On Collision Results in Death of Fort Meyers Man
NORTH FORT MEYERS, FL – According to an online news article at news-press.com, it has been reported that a man, aged 53, from Fort Meyers, Florida, perished in a head-on collision earlier this week on Del Prado Boulevard North located in North Fort Meyers, Florida, per the Florida Highway Patrol.*
The accident happened in the late evening hours were a man, aged 32, from Cape Coral, attempted to overtake traffic that was progressing slowly while operating his 2015 Dodge Ram on Del Prado Boulevard North, per the Florida Highway Patrol. The man went into the oncoming lanes of westerly-bound traffic on Del Prado Boulevard North and crashed head-on with a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado close to Barbie Lane, as indicated by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The individual who was driving the Chevrolet was wearing his seat belt at the time of the accident. He was taken to an area hospital for treatment where he later died. He has not yet been identified publicly, pending notification to his next of kin. The man driving the 2015 Dodge Ram was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash and as a result, sustained serious injuries in the accident. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His current status is unknown at this time.
A passenger in the Dodge Ram, a 29-year-old female, from Cape Coral, Florida, was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident. She nonetheless sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to an area hospital for treatment, per the Florida Highway Patrol. The woman’s medical status is not known at this time.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
