Motorcyclist Sustains Serious Injuries Following a Crash in Wakulla, Florida
WAKULLA, FL – According to an online news report at wctv.com, the Florida Highway Patrol confirms that a person is in serious condition after an accident that occurred on United States Highway 319 and Edgewood Drive in Wakulla, Florida earlier this week.*
Authorities state that a 1996 Jeep Cherokee transporting 3 individuals and a motorcycle were both heading north on United States Highway 319 in the northerly lane when the motorcyclist was attempting to go left onto Edgewood Drive. According to officials, the Jeep did not slow down in time to avoid a rear-end accident, and ultimately collided with the back of the motorcycle.
The jeep, following the collision, came to a final stop facing north. After the accident, the motorcycle traveled on its right side in a northerly direction in the middle of both lanes of the roadway before coming to a final stop facing west.
The Florida Highway Patrol did not indicate whether the biker was ejected from the bike following the impact of the accident. According to troopers, the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The status of the motorcyclist’s condition is not known at this time.
No one in the jeep sustained any injuries in the crash. There are no further details on the accident at this time.
