Vehicle Crashes into Car, Leaves Scene on Wooster St. in Wilmington, North Carolina

WILMINGTON, NC. – According to an online news report published at, a vehicle crashed into a car in the area of Wooster Street in Wilmington, North Carolina, and then left the scene. Parts of the suspect vehicle remained at the scene, and police have pieced together some information about the potential vehicle. Officers are asking for the public to help them make an arrest.*

The accident took place in the early evening at the intersection of Wooster Street and 7th Street. The Wilmington Police Department and WECT report that around 5:30 p.m., a vehicle was traveling westbound on Wooster Street, when another vehicle entered the intersection and crashed into the first vehicle. The make and model of the first vehicle were not reported. 

Police said the crash impact was to the passenger’s side of the first vehicle. It is not clear what caused the second vehicle to enter the intersection against the right-of-way. Officers say that following the collision, the driver of this vehicle left the scene. 

It is not clear if the driver of the first vehicle was injured in the wreck. This person was not identified, and the report did not say how many people were riding in the car. 

It is also not clear if anyone in the second vehicle sustained injuries. No description of the driver was available. However, in performing investigation at the scene, police found parts of the fleeing vehicle, including part of the vehicle’s fender. From the parts left behind, officers have determined the vehicle is a silver 2001 or 2002 Honda Accord. It is a two-door vehicle, police say, and has significant front-end damage.
