One Person Tragically Killed in Crash on Sawgrass Expressway in Coral Springs, Florida

CORAL SPRINGS, FL. – According to a news report posted online at, one person was tragically killed in a vehicle crash that happened on the Sawgrass Expressway in Coral Springs, Florida. The cause and circumstances of the accident were not reported, but it appears that at least two vehicles were involved.*

The accident happened during the morning, close to the exit to Atlantic Boulevard on the Sawgrass Expressway. Florida Highway Patrol and Local 10 report that at least two vehicles collided on the expressway in this area. Local 10 had a news helicopter at the scene, which showed that an SUV and a car were involved in the crash. 

The report says that the SUV had rolled over following the impact and came to a rest on its roof in the center lane of the southbound side of the expressway. The car was stopped in a grassy area off of the roadway, according to the report. Both vehicles were damaged, and the car was described as “badly damaged.” The makes and models of the SUV and the car were not reported. 

It is not known whether other vehicles were involved in the crash. The report says that two express buses were stopped in the shoulder of the expressway following the accident, but it is not clear if they were involved in the wreck in any way. 

It is unclear how many people were riding in the two vehicles, but Local 10 reports that one person was tragically killed in the crash. Florida Highway Patrol reported that the victim tragically died at the scene. No identifying information about this person was included in the news report. No additional injuries were reported by Local 10. 

Troopers are still investigating the accident and had not released further information at the time of the news report’s posting.
