Semi-Truck Crash on Hwy 544 in Horry County, South Carolina, Injures Two

HORRY COUNTY, SC. – According to an online news report posted at, a semi-truck crash that occurred on South Carolina Highway 544 in Horry County, South Carolina, injured two people. No information about the cause or circumstances of the accident was included in the news report, and the two victims were not identified.*

The accident happened during the early morning by Roscoe Road on Highway 544. South Carolina Highway Patrol and Myrtle Beach Online report that at about 2 a.m., authorities were called to the scene of a reported vehicle crash in the area. They arrived to find that a semi-truck and a car had somehow collided on the highway. 

The makes and models of the truck and the car were not listed in the report, and a potential carrier affiliated with the truck was not named. It is not clear how the vehicles ended up crashing or what events led to the accident. The report did not provide any information from authorities about whether one of the drivers was at fault in the collision. It is not clear what direction they had been traveling prior to the crash.

Myrtle Beach Online reports that the driver of the car was injured in the accident and taken to a local hospital for emergency care. This person was not identified. His or her injuries were described as possibly life-threatening. It is not known if anyone else was riding in the car at the time of the accident.

Myrtle Beach Online also reports that the driver of the semi-truck was injured in the collision, but it is not clear if this driver was taken to a hospital for treatment beyond the scene. The semi-truck driver was also not identified, and the report did not indicate whether he or she was the only person in the truck.
