Crash on Locust Hill Rd. in Greenville County, North Carolina, Tragically Kills Passenger

August 19, 2019

GREENVILLE, NC. – According to a news report posted online at unionleader.com, a vehicle crash that took place on Locust Hill Road in Greenville, North Carolina, tragically killed a passenger. North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating and has provided little information about the accident at this time.*

The collision happened in the evening at the crossing of Locust Hill Road with Key Roberts Road. North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the Union Leader report that at about 6 p.m., a Cadillac Escalade somehow collided with another vehicle in the area. The make and model of the second vehicle were not reported. The nature of the collision was also not reported.

It is not clear what events led to the accident or in what way the vehicles came to collide. The report did not say if the accident involved a failure to yield, a rear-end collision, or some other type of crash. No other vehicles were reportedly involved in the accident.

The Union Leader reports that a passenger in the Cadillac sustained critical injuries, and emergency crews took her to Greenville Memorial Hospital, where she tragically died. She was identified by the Greenville County Coroner’s Office as a 75-year-old woman from Greenville County. The report says that she had been riding in the front seat of the vehicle. It is not clear how many people were riding in the Cadillac in total, and the report did not say if the driver was injured. The driver was not identified.

No one from the second vehicle was identified, either, and it is unclear how many people were in this vehicle. Troopers say that emergency responders transported multiple people from the site of the accident to Greenville Memorial Hospital. The exact number of injured persons is not known, nor is the extent of the injuries sustained.
