Florida Highway Patrol is managing the investigation of the accident, and Troopers say that charges are currently pending.*

The accident took place in the early evening close to Pineridge Road on County Road 108. Florida Highway Patrol and News 4 Jax report that at approximately 5 p.m., a Chevrolet Camaro was headed westbound on the highway, when the driver somehow lost control of the vehicle. News 4 Jax reports that the driver of the Lincoln Town Car was tragically killed in the crash. He was identified as a 54-year-old man from Hilliard, Florida. The collision reportedly happened just outside of the city limits of Hilliard. It appears the victim was the only person riding in the Lincoln at the time of the crash.
