Parents of Child Injured in Golf Cart Accident in Delray Beach, Florida, File Suit
DELRAY BEACH, FL. – According to an online news report published by bocanewsnow.com, the parents of a child who was injured in a golf cart accident in Delray Beach, Florida, have filed a lawsuit in connection with the collision. The parents have sued the driver of a car that collided with the golf cart.*
The accident happened in August 2018 in the Seven Bridges community of Delray Beach. According to the news report, a teenager was driving a golf cart with several children as passengers. At some point, the golf cart passed in front of a Volkswagen Beetle, and the two collided. The children riding in the cart were ejected during the crash, and several of them were injured.
The parents of one of the injured children have filed a lawsuit in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court against the driver of the Volkswagen and the driver’s auto insurance carrier. It is not clear from the report whether the parents have also sued the driver of the golf cart. The news report says that the lawsuit points to the golf cart driver as one of the reasons that the accident occurred.
On the day of the accident, the driver of the Volkswagen was not issued a citation, and he has not been criminally charged in connection with the crash. BocaNewsNow.com indicates that the report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says the Volkswagen driver had no reason to believe that a golf cart would pass in front of him in a community that does not use golf carts.
