Two Victims of a Columbus Parking Lot Accident at a Publix Grocery Store Meet and Become Friends – A Positive Outcome to a Horrific Incident

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA – As reported in an online news article published by, two victims of the same parking lot accident at a Publix grocery store meet in the hospital and form a bond that alleviates some of the trauma resulting from the accident.*

A recent accident in a Publix grocery store parking lot on Woodruff Farm Road caused two people to sustain serious injuries, and both victims were hospitalized.  A driver struck both victims with one victim being pinned between a car and a brick column.

The details of both victims’ injuries are unknown.  Local police report that the driver who struck both victims has not yet been charged with any crimes as police are waiting for medical records.

One victim and his wife describe the Publix parking lot accident as “surreal,” and the victim said the accident was “in slow motion.”  The victim’s wife stated that she did not know if her husband would survive the accident and knew immediately that the accident was a life-changing event.

While one victim and his wife did not expect to be spending time in a hospital, they saw the brighter side of things after meeting the second victim, a woman who was also receiving treatment at the same hospital.  Both victims have something in common – they were seriously injured in a bizarre and unexpected grocery store parking lot accident.

Now that the 2 victims have met, they have become fast friends and share a new bond.  In the hospital, the 2 victims “held hands and talked to each other about what had happened to the other.”  The male victim’s wife brought flowers and a ceramic angel to the female victim as a “more positive reminder of the accident.”  The wife goes on to state, “[t]here’s the tragedy, then there’s all the good that comes from it.”
