Pedestrian in Fatal Accident in Lee County has been Identified
LEE COUNTY, FL – According to an online news report at news-press.com, an accident leads to the death of a pedestrian on Palm Beach Boulevard; pedestrian has been identified.*
A man from Alva, Florida was struck and killed in a fatal pedestrian accident earlier this week. The accident caused a shut-down of a part of Palm Beach Boulevard in east Lee County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, which is conducting an investigation of the accident, a 35-year-old man was struck and killed due to darting in front of a 2003 Honda Civic going eastbound. The driver has been identified as a 45-year-old man from Lehigh Acres.
The Civic was driving in the inside lane on state Road 80 located due east of the intersection of Charleston Park Drive. The front passenger side of the Civic struck the pedestrian, causing him to be thrown on the top of the vehicle and onto the roadway. The pedestrian was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The accident occurred in the early morning hours.
The death of the pedestrian represents the 54thtraffic fatality in Lee County.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by local authorities.
