Driver, Pedestrian Tragically Die Following Accident on Colonial Dr. in Orlando, Florida

ORLANDO, FL. – According to a news report posted online at, a driver and a pedestrian tragically died following a traffic accident that happened on Colonial Drive in Orlando, Florida. The circumstances of the accident have not been fully reported at this time, and neither of the victims has been identified.* 

The collision occurred at the intersection of North Kirkman Road and West Colonial Drive in Orlando. Florida Highway Patrol and ClickOrlando report that a pedestrian was walking across East Colonial Drive, and a vehicle traveling in the eastbound center lane of the road struck the pedestrian. The make and model of the vehicle were not reported. 

It is not clear how the accident happened or what events led to the accident. Authorities said that the pedestrian was not inside a crosswalk, but they did not indicate whether a crosswalk was available at the intersection. It is not clear which of the two had the right-of-way at the time, as the details surrounding the accident were not reported. 

ClickOrlando reports that the pedestrian tragically died at the scene. No identifying information about the pedestrian was included in the report. 

Click Orlando further reports that the driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital after the accident, where he tragically died. He was identified only as a man; No other information about him was reported. It is not clear whether his vehicle crashed after the initial collision or if that collision caused his injuries. It appears he was the sole occupant of the vehicle. 

The accident resulted in all of Colonial Drive shutting down on the eastbound side. The closure stretched from Kirkman Road to Hastings Street. Florida Highway Patrol Troopers are still in the process of investigating the events of the collision. No additional information regarding the accident was reported.
