Motorcycle Accident Reported on 4th Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee

KNOXVILLE, TN. – According to a news report published online at, a motorcycle accident was reported as happening on 4th Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee. Authorities have released little information about the circumstances of the accident so far, but the WATE news report states that the motorcyclist was seriously injured.* 

The accident happened in the late afternoon at the crossing of 4th Avenue and Hall of Fame. The Knoxville Police Department and WATE report that at approximately 3 p.m., a truck and a motorcycle somehow collided. It appears the truck was pulling a trailer, and the motorcycle became lodged under the trailer after impact. 

The news report did not say what type of truck was involved or what kind of trailer it was pulling. A photo taken at the scene and posted to the WATE website shows that it was a white pickup truck, pulling a flatbed trailer. It is not clear how the accident happened or what factors led to the collision. The report did not provide details about which vehicle might have had the right-of-way or whether one of the drivers was at fault in the crash.

WATE reports that the motorcyclist sustained injuries and was taken to UT Medical Center for treatment. The motorcyclist was described as a male but was not otherwise identified in the report. His injuries were said to be serious. It does not appear any passengers were on the bike. 

The driver of the pickup truck was also not identified, and the report did not say if this driver was injured. Knoxville police officers are still in the process of investigating the accident.
