One Person Tragically Killed in Wreck on S.R. 121 in Levy County, Florida

LEVY COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report posted at, one person was tragically killed in a vehicle wreck that happened on State Road 121 in Levy County, Florida. Another person was seriously injured in the accident, according to the report, and Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances that led to the crash.* 

The collision happened late in the evening where State Road 121 intersects 75th Street. Florida Highway Patrol and The Gainesville Sun report that at about 10 p.m., a 2007 Hyundai Azera was traveling northbound on State Road 121, while a 2000 Honda of unknown model was traveling eastbound on 75th Street. 

Troopers say that at the intersection of the two roadways, the vehicles collided. The front of the Hyundai crashed into the driver’s side of the Honda. Troopers reported that the Honda had traveled into the path of the Hyundai upon entering the intersection. Authorities did not say what events led to the accident or what factors might be under investigation as having played a role in the crash.

The Gainesville Sun reports that the driver of the Honda was tragically killed in the accident. He was identified as a 40-year-old man from Williston, Florida. In addition, The Gainesville Sun reports that a passenger in the Honda was injured and taken to UF Health Shands Hospital for treatment. He was identified as a 37-year-old man from Gainesville, Florida. His injuries are said to be serious.

The driver of the Hyundai was identified as a 56-year-old woman from Brunswick, Georgia, and a passenger in the Hyundai was identified as an 86-year-old man from Seminole, Florida. The Georgia Sun reports that they were injured, but the extent of their injuries is not clear. 

Florida Highway Patrol will be handling the investigation of the case. No additional information was reported.
