Pedestrian Struck by Vehicle on Bryant Street in Cleveland, Georgia

August 04, 2019

CLEVELAND, GA. – According to an online news story reported at whitecountynews.net, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Bryant Street in Cleveland, Georgia. The news report indicates that the pedestrian was injured in the accident, and the local police department is investigating the incident.*

The accident happened in the late evening, when a man was walking along Bryant Street. The Cleveland Police Department and White County News report that a vehicle was traveling on the roadway and somehow struck the man. The make and model of the vehicle were not included in the news report, nor was the exact location of the collision. A cross street was not named in the report to specify where the accident occurred.

Police officers noted that the pedestrian was walking slightly inside the white line on the roadway, but the news report did not say what direction he was walking or what direction the vehicle was headed. Officers also stated that the pedestrian was in dark clothing and was not wearing reflectors. They also said, however, that a street light was in the area of the road where the crash happened.

White County News reports that the pedestrian was injured in the collision and transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment. It appears he was listed in serious condition, but police said that he was in stable condition at the time of the report. He was identified as a 32-year-old man from Cleveland.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as a 25-year-old man from Cleveland. It is not clear if he was injured in the accident or if he was the only person in the vehicle when the accident happened. Officers said that the driver was the person who called authorities following the accident.

The Cleveland Police Department is still completing its investigation.
