Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident in New Hanover County, North Carolina
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC – According to an online news report at wwaytv3.com, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol has identified the individual responsible for causing a hit-and-run accident.*
The suspect, a man, has been arrested and is facing charges of a felony hit-and-run, driving with a suspended license, and operating a vehicle with a revoked registration. Per a news release from the local police, the accident occurred in the late night hours over the weekend at Carolina Beach Road and Silver Lake Road. The woman victim, aged 67, was attempting to cross Carolina Beach Road on her bicycle when the suspect hit her going eastbound. The woman died as a result of her injuries.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
