One Sustains Injuries in Accident on Burlington, Tennessee’s Garden Road
BURLINGTON, TN – According to an online news report at thetimesnews.com, a woman was transported to a local hospital after being involved in a two-vehicle accident on Garden Road in Burlington, Tennessee.*
A woman sustained injuries after being involved in a two-vehicle car accident on Garden Road in Burlington. The accident occurred in the mid-afternoon earlier this week. According to investigators, it is not clear what caused the crash and who was responsible because one of the drivers was taken to an area hospital before police arrived at the scene.
The Burlington police and fire rescue crews as well as emergency personnel from the county EMS were dispatched to the scene of the accident where a gray vehicle was engulfed in flames on the front lawn of a residence. Fire rescue crews were able to put out the fire but not before the left rearview mirror, the dashboard and the left corner of the vehicle were badly damaged in the fire.
According to the local police, the driver of the vehicle sustained non-life threatening injuries. It was not clear to authorities whether the driver was injured from the crash or the subsequent fire.
The second automobile involved in the accident was driven by a woman who has not been identified. Her vehicle came to rest on Garden road with all of the airbags released. This driver remained at the scene of the accident and did not sustain any injuries. The police will not be able to ascertain what happened until they speak with the driver who left the scene to go to the hospital.
Garden Road was shut down at Boone Station Drive while crews were on scene.
There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
