Jogger Struck by Vehicle on Ching Dairy Rd. in Mobile, Alabama

MOBILE, AL. – According to a news report published online at, a jogger was struck by a vehicle on Ching Dairy Road in Mobile, Alabama. Fox 10 reports that the jogger tragically died after the collision, and Alabama State Troopers are investigating the accident. Identifying information on the victim has been released by officials.* 

The accident occurred during the early morning on the northbound side of Ching Dairy Road. Alabama State Troopers and Fox 10 report that at approximately 5:10 a.m., a man was out jogging on the roadway and was struck by a passing vehicle. The report says that the vehicle was a truck and that it was traveling north on the road. The exact location of the accident was not clear from the report, as no cross street was provided. 

It is not clear what circumstances led to the collision. State Troopers said that the victim was jogging in the same direction as traffic, and it appears he was inside of the lane of travel. Troopers added that he was wearing dark clothing, but they did not say whether he had on any reflective gear. Descriptive information about the pickup was not reported. 

Fox 10 reports that the jogger tragically died at the site of the accident. He was identified as a 42-year-old man from Mobile. 

The driver of the pickup truck was identified as a 25-year-old man from Mobile. The report did not say whether he was injured in the accident or whether any passengers were riding in his truck when the collision took place. 

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the accident, and at the time of the Fox 10 report’s publishing online, Troopers had not provided information regarding the possibility of charges in the case. No additional information about the collision was included in the report.
