School Bus Crash in Dayton, Ohio, Causes Multiple Injuries

DAYTON, OH. – According to a news report posted online at, a school bus crash that occurred in Dayton, Ohio, resulted in injuries to multiple people. The news report states that five of the injured persons were children, and three of them were adults, making eight people injured in total. It is not yet clear how the crash happened.*

The accident took place in the late afternoon at approximately 4:30 p.m., while a school bus with Dayton Public Schools was transporting children home from school. The bus was carrying about 20 children, according to the Dayton Fire Department captain, Aaron Chaney. It is not clear what school or schools the children attended, and their ages were not reported. 

At some point during the transport, the school bus collided with an SUV. The make and model of the SUV were not reported. The area where the crash happened is unclear, as no street name or neighborhood name was provided in the report. It is not clear what events led to the crash or in what way the two vehicles hit each other. 

The Vindicator reports that five children and three adults were injured in the accident. It is not clear if the adults were on the bus or in the SUV, and it is also not clear if the bus driver was among those injured. The report did not say how many people were in the SUV. Some of the injured persons were transported to local hospitals, where the extent of their injuries and their current medical conditions have not been reported.

The Dayton Police Department is investigating the crash. At the time of the news report’s publishing, no further information about the collision had been released. No statement or comment from the school district could be obtained for purposes of the report.
