Child Tragically Dies from Balcony Fall at Marisol Condos in Panama City Beach, Florida

PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL. – According to an online news report posted at, a child tragically died from a balcony fall that happened at the Marisol Condominiums in Panama City Beach, Florida. The Panama City Beach Police Department is currently investigating the accident, and limited information has been made available to the media. It is not yet clear how the fall happened.* 

The incident happened in the late afternoon on the ninth floor of the condo building. Officers with the Panama City Beach Police Department and WJHG report that at approximately 4 p.m., emergency response was called to the condo building regarding a balcony accident. It appears that a child was out on a balcony on that floor and somehow fell from the balcony, landing on the ground.

The news report does not provide information about how the fall happened. It is unclear if the balcony had a railing, if the railing gave way, or if the child was climbing on the railing. The report did not say whether anyone was on the balcony with the child when the accident happened. No details about the circumstances leading to the accident were reported. 

WJHG reports that the child was transported to Bay Medical Center, where he tragically died from his injuries. He was identified as being 3 years old. He was reportedly visiting Florida with his family from Midway, Ohio. No other injuries were reported, and no one related to the child was identified by authorities. 

The Panama City Beach Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident, and at the time of the WJHG report’s publishing, no additional information had been reported. No statement from the condo owner or board was included in the news report. It is not clear if the family or officials will be pursuing legal action related to the fall.
