Two Boat Passengers Sustain Serious Injuries in Pinellas County, Florida Crash

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – According to an online news report at, two boat passengers sustained serious injuries following a crash into a seawall in South Pasadena, Florida over the weekend.*

Per the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office, two individuals were injured on a boat that collided with a seawall in South Pasadena, Florida.  The boat’s operator, a male, aged 24, is facing potential BUI charges pending the results of his blood draw, according to a preliminary report issued on the accident. It also appears that the man has been cited for speeding, which is believed to be a factor in causing the accident.

The man was operating a boat going northbound behind 8041 Sailboat Key Boulevard located in South Pasadena, Florida.  The area is a slow speed and minimum wake zone.  The boater was trying to turn left going westbound toward Intracoastal Waterway and hit into a seawall, per an initial investigation of the accident. Two of the five individuals who were occupying the boat were ejected and thrown into the water.  A 29-year-old woman sustained serious injuries however, a woman, aged 23, was reportedly not injured despite being ejected.

Another passenger on the boat, a man, aged 30, also sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash.  The woman and man who were injured were both transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for their injuries.

The operator of the boat and another passenger did not suffer any injuries in the crash.

Investigators believe that both speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.  There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
