Collision on Old Hickory Blvd. in Nashville, Tennessee, Tragically Kills Motorcyclist

NASHVILLE, TN. – According to a news report published online at, a collision that occurred on Old Hickory Boulevard in Nashville, Tennessee, tragically killed a motorcyclist. The accident involved an SUV in addition to the motorcycle, and authorities have released identifying information on both the victim and the driver of the other vehicle.* 

The accident happened in the evening close to the entrance ramp to Interstate 24 East on Old Hickory Boulevard. The Nashville Metro Police Department and Fox 17 report that shortly before 7 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle and a Ford F-150 somehow collided with each other. The report did not indicate what circumstances led to the accident or how the vehicles crashed. 

Fox 17 reports that the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was ambulanced to Skyline Medical Center, where he tragically died. Police identified the victim as a 61-year-old man from Madison, Tennessee. It does not appear that any passengers were on the bike, but that information was not confirmed by police officers. 

Fox 17 further reports that the driver of the Ford was not injured in the collision. Authorities identified him as a 48-year-old resident of Alabama. It is not clear if the driver was the only person in the Ford truck at the time the accident took place. Police and Fox 17 report that the Ford driver was cited for failure to yield in connection with the accident. It is unclear if charges will be added upon completion of the investigation. 

Metro Police are investigating the crash, and officers had not released detailed information at the time of the Fox 17 report’s posting online. Based on the reporting that the Ford driver was cited for failure to yield, the accident might have involved a turn or crossing a road at an intersection. No further information was reported.
