Tragic, Fatal Pedestrian Accident Occurs on I-4 in Seminole County, Florida

SEMINOLE COUNTY, FL. – According to a news report published online at, a fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Interstate 4 in Seminole County, Florida. The accident, which involved a vehicle and the victim, is still under investigation by Troopers with Florida Highway Patrol, according to the news report.* 

The accident took place in the early morning hours by the exit to State Road 46 on the eastbound side of Interstate 4. Florida Highway Patrol and ClickOrlando report that at about 4:30 a.m., a 2004 Toyota was traveling east on the interstate and ran into a pedestrian. Troopers say that the pedestrian was attempting to walk across the roadway, but they did not provide information on why he was walking on the interstate at that time. It is not clear what direction he was walking. 

The model of the Toyota was not provided in the report, though it was described as a four-door vehicle. It is unclear how the accident occurred, and authorities are still working to determine the events leading to the collision. 

ClickOrlando reports that the pedestrian was fatally injured in the accident and tragically died at the scene. Troopers identified him as a 70-year-old man from Sanford, Florida. 

Click Orlando further reports that the driver of the Toyota was not injured. Authorities identified him as a 37-year-old man from Orlando, Florida. Troopers noted that he was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident. The report did not say whether he was the sole occupant of the Toyota when the crash took place. 

Florida Highway Patrol is managing the crash investigation. At the time of the ClickOrlando report’s publishing online, Troopers had not indicated whether they believed charges would be pursued in the case. No additional information regarding the collision or related investigation was contained in the news report.
