Motorcycle Accident on Newfield St. in Middletown, Florida, Results in Injuries

MIDDLETOWN, FL. – According to an online news story reported at, a motorcycle accident that happened on Newfield Street in Middletown, Florida, resulted in injuries, including serious injuries to one person. The accident is under investigation by the Middletown Police Department, and officers are asking witnesses to come forward.* 

The accident happened in the evening at the crossing of Newfield Street with Westfield Street. The Middletown Police Department and the Hartford Courant Report that at about 8:45 p.m., a Harley Davidson motorcycle was headed southbound on Newfield Street, while at the same time, a 2009 Toyota Sienna was headed northbound on the same road.

At the intersection of Newfield and Westfield streets, the two vehicles somehow crashed into each other. The news report states that the front of the motorcycle crashed into the back of the Toyota on the passenger’s side. It is not clear what led to the collision or what factors might have contributed to the crash. Police have not yet said how the vehicles came to crash.

The Hartford Courant reports that the two people riding on the motorcycle were injured in the accident. The driver of the motorcycle was identified as a 27-year-old man from Fort Myers, Florida, and the passenger was identified as a 26-year-old resident of Wallingford, Florida. 

Both were treated at the scene, then taken to Hartford Hospital, where the driver is reportedly still hospitalized in serious condition. The passenger has reportedly since been released from treatment. 

The Hartford Courant further reports that the driver of the Toyota was not injured in the crash. No passengers were reported to have been in this vehicle. 

Middletown Police are still investigating and ask that anyone who witnessed the crash contact officers by calling (860) 638-4061. No additional information about the accident was included in the news report.
