The accident occurred close to the Alabama border, east of Scooba, per a spokesperson from the Mississippi Highway Patrol.  The spokesperson indicated that the Mississippi Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an accident involving two automobiles – a passenger van and a Penske truck.  The 8 men that were writing in the passenger van died as a result of the impact of the crash.  The driver of the van survived the accident.  The names of the accident victims have not been released at this time.
