Two Tragically Killed in Vehicle Crash on Howell Rd. in Robeson County, North Carolina

ROBESON COUNTY, NC. – According to an online news report posted at, two people were tragically killed in a vehicle crash that happened on Howell Road in Robeson County, North Carolina. It appears the accident involved two vehicles, and it caused injuries to seven other people, according to the news report.* 

The crash took place at the intersection of Howell Road and Regan Church Road in Robeson County. North Carolina State Highway Patrol and WPDE report that a vehicle of unknown make and model was traveling toward the crossing of the two roads, and the driver failed to stop at a stop sign. The vehicle then collided with a pickup truck in the intersection. The make and model of the pickup truck were also not reported. 

The news report did not say why the driver of the first vehicle did not stop at the intersection’s stop sign. Troopers investigating the case did not tell reporters what events they might be investigating has having led to the accident. 

WPDE reports that two people riding in the first vehicle were tragically killed in the accident. They were identified as a husband and wife from Lumberton, North Carolina. The wife was reportedly driving the vehicle when the crash happened.

In addition, WPDE reports that seven people sustained injuries in the collision. None of these people was identified in the report, and it is not clear which of the two vehicles they were riding in at the time of the accident. The news report says that one of the injured persons had to be airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital. Information regarding the seriousness of injuries and current conditions was not provided by authorities. 

North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, and Troopers reportedly indicated that charges are not anticipated in the case.
