Vehicle Crash on Mableton Pkwy in Cobb County, Georgia, Tragically Kills Juvenile Driver

COBB COUNTY, GA. – According to an online news story reported at, a vehicle crash that happened on Mableton Parkway in Cobb County, Georgia, caused the tragic death of a juvenile driver. Another juvenile in the vehicle was injured, according to the report, and taken to a hospital. Police officers said the two juveniles were in a stolen vehicle at the time of the accident.* 

The accident happened late in the evening on Mableton Parkway. The Cobb County Police Department and WGXA report that at approximately 10 p.m., a Nissan and an SUV somehow crashed into each other. The model of the Nissan was not reported, nor were the make and model of the SUV. Police officers reported that the Nissan involved in the accident was stolen.

It is unclear how the accident occurred or whether it was part of a police pursuit. No details about the nature of the crash or the events leading to it were included in the report. Officers did not say which driver might have caused the accident. 

WGXA reports that the driver of the Nissan was fatally injured and tragically died at the scene. Identifying information about the driver was not provided in the report, but the report said that officers described him as “very young.” 

WGXA additionally reports that the passenger in the Nissan was injured and taken to a local hospital. The unidentified passenger was reportedly also a juvenile whose injuries are said to be critical. Police officers said that the passenger told them the driver was his brother, but they were not able to confirm this information at the time of the news report’s posting. 

No information about the driver of the SUV was reported. It is not clear how many people were in the SUV or if anyone in this vehicle was injured.
