Tractor-Trailer Overturns on I-75 in Macon, Georgia
MACON, GA. – According to an online news story reported at wgxa.tv, a tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 75 in Macon, Georgia. The cause of the accident is not clear at this time, and authorities are still investigating. It appears only the tractor-trailer was involved, and it is unclear if anyone sustained injuries in the wreck.*
The incident took place at the exit to Sardis Church Road on I-75. The report does not say what direction the tractor-trailer was traveling, but it appears that the driver attempted to take the Sardis Church Road exit from the interstate and ended up losing control of the rig during a turn away from the exit ramp. The tractor-trailer then toppled over onto its side.
The tractor-trailer was carrying a load of hay bales at the time of the incident. The report did not say with what company or carrier the truck and driver were affiliated. A photo from the scene that was posted to the WGXA website shows the trailer lying on its passenger’s side with the bales of hay on the road. It is not clear if any of the load was damaged in the accident.
WGXA said that no injuries had been reported at the time of its report’s publishing, but it is not clear if authorities confirmed no one was injured. The driver of the rig was not identified, and officials did not say if anyone else was riding in the tractor-trailer when it overturned.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and authorities are still trying to determine how the collision occurred. The report did not indicate whether the trailer’s load was unbalanced or whether the overturn happened for another reason. Authorities are investigating, though the report did not saw which law enforcement agency would be taking the lead on the investigation.
