Vehicle Crash on Williamson Rd. in Bibb County, Georgia, Leaves Seven Children Injured

BIBB COUNTY, GA. – According to a news report published online at, a vehicle crash that happened on Williamson Road in Bibb County, Georgia, left seven children with injuries. The children were riding in two vehicles that collided at an intersection for unknown reasons. The accident is being investigated by deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office.*

The collision happened at the intersection of Williamson Road and Bloomfield Drive. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and The Georgia Sun report that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed northbound on Bloomfield Drive and ended up colliding with a GMC Denali that had been traveling on Williamson Road. It is not clear what direction the GMC was headed at the time. 

Deputies did not release information regarding how the accident happened, so it is unclear how the vehicles came to collide. The news report did not indicate whether one of the two vehicles failed to yield the right-of-way or if other circumstances led to the accident. 

The Georgia Sun indicates that the driver of the Jeep and six juvenile passengers in the Jeep sustained injuries and were transported via ambulance to Navicent Health Medical Center. They are reported to be in stable condition. The driver was not identified in the report. The children were identified as five girls ages 5 to 10 and a 6-year-old boy. 

In addition, The Georgia Sun reports that the driver of the GMC and one juvenile passenger were also injured and transported to Navicent Health Medical Center. The driver was not identified and is reportedly in stable condition. The child was identified as a 9-year-old girl, and she is reportedly in critical condition. 

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is continuing investigation of the wreck, and deputies had released no further information at the time The Georgia Sun report was published online.
