Fatal Two-Vehicle Accident Reported on C.R. 40 in Posey’s Crossroads, Alabama

POSEY’S CROSSROADS, AL. – According to an online news report published at, a fatal two-vehicle accident was reported to have happened on Autauga County Road 40 in Posey’s Crossroads, Alabama. The nature of the accident and its cause have not yet been reported by authorities.*

The collision took place in the late afternoon about 10 miles away from Prattville on Autauga County Road 40. Alabama State Troopers and the Montgomery Advertiser report that at approximately 3 p.m., a 2016 Dodge Ram 3500 and a 2005 Honda Accord somehow crashed into each other. The nature of the accident was not included in the report, so it is unclear how the two vehicles came to collide.

Authorities investigating the accident have not provided information regarding the factors involved in the crash. It is not clear if Troopers suspect any circumstances like speeding or distraction to have been involved. The collision was said to have occurred at an intersection, but Troopers were not reported to have said whether one vehicle had the right-of-way. The cross street at the intersection was not named.

The Montgomery Advertiser reports that the driver of the Dodge sustained fatal injuries and tragically died at the scene of the collision. He was identified by the Autauga County Coroner’s Office as a 62-year-old man from Autauga County. 

The Montgomery Advertiser further reports that the driver of the Honda, who was not identified in the report, was seriously injured and taken to Prattville Baptist Hospital. This driver’s injuries are said to be life-threatening. A current medical condition for the person was not reported. The report did not say if any passengers were in either vehicle. 

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating the accident. Further details about the wreck were not available at the time the report from the Montgomery Advertiser was posted online.
