Child Sent by Life Flight Following Maine Accident – 5 Others Sustain Serious Injuries
GORHAM, MAINE – As reported online by www.pressherald.com, an accident on Route 25 in Gorham left 6 people injured, with one child sustaining critical injuries, and five others sustaining serious injuries.*
A multi-vehicle accident on Route 25 in Gorham, Maine has ended with 6 people sustaining injuries. The accident happened in the afternoon hours when a Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by a 61-year-old Standish man traveling westbound on Route 25, struck the back of a 2008 Honda Pilot, driven by a 39-year-old Standish man. The impact of this initial rear-end collision caused the Honda Pilot to travel into the path of a 2019 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 42-year-old Boca Raton, Florida woman who was traveling in the eastbound lane. The accident shut down traffic for approximately 3 hours on Route 25.
One of the accident victims, an 8-year-old child, sustained critical injuries and was transported by Life Flight to Maine Medical Center. The five other injured individuals were also taken to Maine Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries. The names of the victims have not been released as the investigation into the accident is ongoing. Local police have not released any details on the potential cause(s) of this accident and whether any driver will be criminally charged.
