July 24, 2019

FLORENCE, SC. – According to news stories reported online at wmbfnews.com, one person was tragically killed in a car accident that occurred on East National Cemetery Road in Florence, South Carolina. The crash appears to have involved only one vehicle, and authorities are still investigating to determine how the accident took place.*

The accident happened late in the evening close to Swamp Fox Road on East National Cemetery Road in Florence County, South Carolina. South Carolina Highway Patrol and WMBF report that a pickup truck was traveling eastbound and somehow ran off the roadway on the right side. The make and model of the truck were not reported.

It is not clear at this time what caused the vehicle to exit the roadway. Troopers have not reported on any events leading up to the crash or factors contributing to the crash.

WMBF reports that a passenger inside the truck was tragically killed in the accident. The Florence County Coroner’s Office identified him as a 29-year-old man from South Windsor, Connecticut.

WMBF further reports that the driver of the truck, who has still not been identified, was injured in the accident and transported to McLeod Hospital for treatment. The extent of the driver’s injuries, and her current medical condition have not been reported. It does not appear anyone else was in the truck.
