Woman Tragically Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Santa Fe Drive in Fayetteville, North Carolina

FAYETTEVILLE, NC. – According to an online news report posted at, a woman was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash on Santa Fe Drive in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Authorities are still trying to determine the cause of the accident and are still conducting their investigation at this time.* 

The accident took place in the late afternoon at the crossing of Santa Fe Drive and the All American Freeway in Fayetteville. The Fayetteville Police Department and WRAL report that at about 3 p.m., a motorcycle was traveling on Santa Fe Drive (it’s not clear what direction), when a car made a turn in front of the motorcycle. Make and model information for the motorcycle and the car were not reported. 

After the car traveled into the motorcycle’s path, the two vehicles collided. Police officers say that the motorcyclist was then ejected from the bike, and a passing Dodge Ram ran into the motorcyclist. It is not yet clear what led to the initial crash. Police officers did not report on why the driver of the car turned in front of the motorcycle or what circumstances were involved in the accident. 

WRAL reports that the motorcyclist tragically died at the scene of the crash. She was identified by officials as a 42-year-old woman from Fayetteville. The report did not say if anyone was riding on the motorcycle with the victim when the accident happened. 

The driver of the car and the driver of the Dodge were not identified in the news report. It is not clear if they were injured, and the report did not specify how many people were riding in those two vehicles. No other injuries were reported. 

The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating the incident, and officers ask that anyone with information about the wreck contact the department at (910) 433-1807.
