Vehicle Crash Reported on Forest Road in Columbus, Georgia

COLUMBUS, GA. – According to an online news report posted at, a vehicle crash was reported on Forest Road in Columbus, Georgia. Sparse information concerning the accident has so far been released, and it is not clear how many people sustained injuries. Authorities are investigating to determine the cause.* 

The collision occurred in the late afternoon at the crossing of Forest Road with Reese Road in Columbus. It appears that two vehicles somehow collided at the intersection at approximately 3 p.m., according to WTVM. The Columbus Police Department and paramedics were called to the scene. 

It is not clear what types of vehicles were involved in the collision, as make and model information for the two vehicles was not reported. A photo from the crash scene posted to the WTVM website indicates that one of the vehicles was a white or silver pickup truck. The truck has significant damage to the front end. The second vehicle is not depicted in the picture on the website. 

The news report did not say how the accident happened or in what way the vehicles collided. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. Police officers responding to the scene did not provide immediate information about what events they believed might have led to the crash. 

WTVM was not able to confirm how many people were injured in the wreck, but the report says that witnesses believed two people were hurt and taken away from the scene by way of ambulances. The total number of people involved in the crash was not reported, nor was the nature of any injuries sustained. 

The Columbus Police Department is handling the investigation of this accident. At the time that the WTVM news report was published, officers had not released further information to the media regarding the accident.
