Rear-End Collision in Greensboro, North Carolina, Tragically Kills One Person

GREENSBORO, NC. – According to an online news report posted at, a rear-end collision that happened in Greensboro, North Carolina, tragically killed one person. It is not clear if anyone else was injured in the crash, which police say involved three different vehicles. The accident is currently under investigation by local police.* 

The accident happened in the evening on New Garden Road in Greensboro. The Greensboro Police Department and Fox 8 report that at about 8:30 p.m., a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on the roadway and was somehow rear-ended by another northbound vehicle that had been traveling behind it. The make and model of the second vehicle were not reported.

Upon impact, the Honda was pushed into traffic headed in the southbound direction on New Garden and was subsequently struck by an oncoming Nissan Titan. Police did not say what caused the initial rear-end collision, but officers reportedly believe that speeding and a medical condition potentially played a role in the accident. They did not report on any other factors they might be investigating as having contributed to the wreck.

Fox 8 reports that the driver of the Honda was tragically killed in the collision. Investigators identified the victim as a man from Greensboro. His age was not included in the report. It is not clear if any passengers were riding in his vehicle at the time that the accident took place.

No other injuries were reported by Fox 8. The driver of the Nissan was not identified in the report, while the driver of the vehicle that rear-ended the victim was identified only as a man from Greensboro. 

Investigation is ongoing by the local police department, and the news report from Fox 8 says that no information about possible charges had been released at the time of the report’s publishing.
