Pedestrian Tragically Dies in Vehicle Collision on Adams Street in Memphis, Tennessee

July 12, 2019

MEMPHIS, TN. – According to a news story reported online at fox13memphis.com, a pedestrian tragically died in a vehicle collision that occurred on Adams Street in Memphis, Tennessee. The news report indicates that police arrested and charged the driver of the vehicle in connection with the accident.*

The accident happened in the morning in the 600 block of Adams. The Memphis Police Department and Fox 13 report that at about 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the location on a call about a traffic accident. They arrived to find that a car had struck a pedestrian.

The circumstances of the accident were not reported. It is unclear where the pedestrian had been walking or how the car ended up hitting the person. The make and model of the car were not included in the report, and authorities were not reported to have identified any factors that might have contributed to the crash.

Fox 13 states that the pedestrian sustained critical injuries, and emergency responders took him to Regional One, where he tragically died. Identifying information about the victim was not included in the news story.

The driver of the car was identified as a male. His age and city of residence were not provided in the report. It appears police believe that the car he was driving when he hit the victim might have been stolen, or that the driver might have committed a theft of another kind before the accident. Fox 13 says the man has been charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of theft. The incident is still under investigation.
