ORANGE COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report posted at wftv.com, two fatal pedestrian crashes occurred on the same night on Orange Blossom Trail in Orange County, Florida. The crashes involved separate vehicles and happened within minutes of each other, according to authorities.*
The accidents both occurred early in the morning close to 41st Street on Orange Blossom Trail. Florida Highway Patrol and WFTV report that at about 3 a.m., a vehicle ran into a pedestrian as he was trying to cross the roadway. The vehicle then crashed into a building close to the scene. WFTV reports that the victim, identified as a 39-year-old man, was tragically killed in the accident.
Following this crash, three bystanders stopped to try to render aid to the victim, and a second vehicle, described as a black Lexus, sped through the area and struck them. The driver of the Lexus then left the scene. WFTV reports that one of the bystanders, identified as a 32-year-old man from Apopka, Florida, tragically died from his injuries.
WFTV states the driver of the first vehicle, a 22-year-old woman from Clermont, Florida, was arrested and charged with murder, DUI manslaughter, and driving on a suspended license. She was reportedly released on bond following a hearing.
