Pedestrian Tragically Killed in Crash on Dorchester Rd. in Dorchester County, South Carolina
DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC. – According to an online news report posted at live5news.com, a pedestrian was tragically killed in a traffic crash that took place on Dorchester Road in Dorchester County, South Carolina. Officials have released identifying information on the victim, but the driver has not been identified at this time.*
The accident happened in the late evening close to Saw Mill Court on Dorchester Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol and Live 5 report that at approximately 10:30 p.m., a 2004 Acura struck a pedestrian on the roadway. The model of the Acura was not reported. It is not clear where the pedestrian was in relation to the roadway at the time of the accident.
Live 5 reports that the pedestrian tragically died of his injuries. The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office identified him as a 43-year-old man from Summerville, South Carolina.
The driver of the Acura was not identified in the news report. However, Live 5 says the driver was not injured in the collision. It is not clear if any passengers were in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The coroner’s office and South Carolina Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating the accident. No further information was available regarding the collision or the investigation at the time that the Live 5 report was published online.
