Two Tragically Killed in Motorcycle Accident on SR A1A in Flagler County, Florida

FLAGLER COUNTY, FL. – According to an online news report published at, two people were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident that happened on State Road A1A in Flagler County, Florida. The two victims have not yet been identified by Florida Highway Patrol, which is handling the investigaton.*

The crash took place in the evening near Oceanshore Boulevard on State Road A1A. Troopers and First Coast News report that a Harley Davidson motorcycle was headed south on the roadway, while another motorcycle was headed north. The northbound motorcycle then crossed the centerline of State Road A1A and crashed into the southbound motorcycle head-on. 

Upon impact, the Harley Davidson turned onto its side and slid off of the road. It is not yet clear why the northbound bike left its lane of travel. Troopers were not reported to have determined what events led to the crash. 

First Coast News reports that both of the motorcyclists were tragically killed in the collision. They had not been officially identified at the time of the report’s posting online, as Troopers had not yet notified family members. However, the report indicates that one of the victims was a 70-year-old man, and the other was a 65-year-old man. Florida Highway Patrol reported that neither man was wearing a helmet when the accident occurred. 

After the crash, Florida Highway Patrol posted a message to social media, saying, “Fatal Crash: Flagler County: Oceanshore Blvd at Driftway Terr. Two motorcycles head on. Two riders confirmed deceased on scene. Roadway is blocked for investigation. Please seek alternate route.”
