Accident leads to One Fatality and Five Injuries in Lawrenceville, Georgia
GWINNETT COUNTY, GA – According to an online news report at gwinnettdailypost.com, a fatal crash left one dead and five others injured earlier this week on Buford Drive close to Russell Road in Lawrenceville, Georgia.*
The accident occurred in the late evening earlier this week, of which resulted in the death of one and injuries to five others.
The victim who died was a 69-year-old man from Lawrenceville. He was leaving the parking lot of a Kroger store in a Ford Ranger while he was trying to go across Buford Drive. He hit into a Honda Odyssey driven by a 37-year-old man, also from Lawrenceville. According to police, the 69-year-old failed to yield to the right of way, which led to the collision.
The man was taken to an area hospital where he died as a result of his injuries. There were five individuals inside the Odyssey The driver was taken to the Atlanta Medical Center with a serious head injury. Per the police report, there was a fifteen-year-old girl who was also taken to Atlanta Medical Center with a hand injury. An eighteen-year-old girl was seriously injured and was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center-Lawrenceville. A sixteen-year-old boy also suffered from serious injuries in the crash and was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta- Scottish Rite Hospital. A one-year old girl suffered from non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Atlanta Medical Center.
Police state that pursuant to their initial investigation, alcohol use and speed do not appear to be factors in the accident. There are no further details on the accident at this time. The crash remains under investigation by the local police.
