Major Vehicle Accident Reported on FM 1560 in Bexar County, Texas

July 02, 2019

BEXAR COUNTY, TX. – According to a news story posted online at mysanantonio.com, a major vehicle accident was reported to have occurred on FM 1560 in Bexar County, Texas. The accident caused the tragic death of one person and serious injuries to a small child, according to the news report.*

The accident happened during the afternoon in the 9600 block of FM 1560 in Northwest Bexar County. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and the San Antonio Express-News report that a white car (make and model not reported) was traveling southbound on the roadway and suddenly veered into oncoming traffic.

It is not clear what caused the car to cross into the path of oncoming vehicles. The San Antonio Express-News states that a three-vehicle crash ensued. One of the vehicles was an Acura (model not reported), but the third vehicle was not described.

The San Antonio Express-News reports that the driver of the white car tragically died in the accident. This person was not identified. An unidentified passenger had also been riding in the car at the time, though it does not appear this person was injured. The news report said both occupants of the white car were in their 20s.

In addition, the San Antonio Express-News reports that a 3-year-old child who had been riding in the Acura sustained serious injuries and was transported to University Hospital. He or she is said to be in critical condition.

Deputies said the driver of the white car was driving at a high rate of speed, well above the posted speed limit for FM 1560, and authorities found narcotics in the car upon searching. The accident is still under investigation.
