Head-On Collision on Pine Log Rd in Aiken County, South Carolina, Causes Multiple Injuries

AIKEN COUNTY, SC. – According to a news report posted online at, a head-on collision on Pine Log Road in Aiken County, South Carolina, caused multiple injuries. A vehicle fire broke out following the crash, and emergency crews took several people to local hospitals with injuries, according to the report.* 

The accident happened in the evening by Kim Court on Pine Log Road. South Carolina Highway Patrol and WRDW report that at about 8:30 p.m., two cars were somehow involved in a collision in the area. It is not clear how the crash happened or what events might have led to the crash, and descriptions of the two cars were not provided in the report.

The crash was described as head-on. The report did not say whether one of the vehicles crossed over the centerline of the roadway or if the crash took place in another fashion. The accident resulted in Pine Log Road shutting down for several hours while crews investigated and cleared the area. 

WRDW reports that three people sustained injuries in the crash. The report did not say whether the victims were riding in one of the cars or both. Emergency crews reportedly had to free one person from one of the vehicles and then took all three to a nearby hospital for treatment. The victims were not identified. South Carolina Highway Patrol said that their injuries were non-life threatening. 

The accident is still under investigation, and no further information was available at the time the news report was posted to the WRDW website.
