Teenage from Milledgeville, Georgia Injured in Crash
MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – According to an online news report at unionrecorder.com, a two-vehicle accident late last week injured both drivers, one of whom continued to be hospitalized as of earlier this week.*
A two-automobile accident that occurred Milledgeville late last week caused injuries to both drivers, one of whom remained hospitalized as of earlier this week.
The crash involved a 2006 Ford F-150 pickup truck and a 1977 Chevrolet Corvette. The accident occurred at the intersection of Warren and Hancock streets in the late evening hours.
The injury victims are identified as a seventeen-year-old man from Milledgeville, and a woman, from Sparta Georgia. Her age has not been released to the public. The aforementioned information was provided by an accident report filed by a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol post in Milledgeville.
Both of the individuals injured in the accident were first treated at the scene. The man was taken to The Medical Center at Navicent Health in Macon. The woman was transported to Navicent Health Baldwin in Milledgeville.
The man was listed in fair condition as of earlier this week. The woman, as noted above, was taken to the hospital however, it appears that she was not hospitalized and released the same day.
The man was going north on Warren Street in his Corvette while the woman was traveling east on Hancock Street in the left easterly lane, per the police report. The man failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Hancock and Warren streets. The woman’s pickup truck slammed into the Corvette at the front end of the driver’s side of the vehicle. “The area of impact was in the left eastbound lane of Hancock Street and was determined by crash debris, roadway marks, and driver statements,” an officer noted.
The driver of the Corvette was issued a citation for failing to stop at a stop sign resulting in an accident.
