Woman from Glennville Dies from Injuries Following a Serious Crash

The victim has been identified as thirty-three-year-old woman from Glennville, per the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office chief deputy. The woman was transported to an area hospital in Macon where she was listed in serious condition. The woman died at the hospital as a result of her injuries, per the chief deputy.
Emergency personnel, including police, firefighters and emergency medical services rendered first aid to the victim prior to her being taken to a local hospital for further treatment. The sheriff’s office was informed of the woman’s death by the Putnam County deputy coroner.
The 33 year old was a passenger of a 2004 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a 34 year old man from Glennville, Georgia. The driver was heading northbound on United States Highway 441 and somehow lost control of his vehicle. Per the chief deputy, “[w]hen he swerved, the vehicle separated from a utility trailer and the vehicle began to overturn. The passenger was ejected.”
The 33 year old woman was not wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident. The driver was wearing his. After being ejected from the vehicle, the victim was hit by a trailer. The man’s vehicle, after it lost control, rested in a ditch on the passenger side of the automobile.
The accident remains under investigation by local police. It is not clear whether the driver sustained injuries in the accident. There are no further details on the crash at this time.
