Two People Injured Following Accident Involving Impaired Driver
RALEIGH, NC – According to an online news report at wnct.com, two people sustained injuries when a car exited the road and plowed into a patio dining area of a Raleigh pizza restaurant.*
The accident occurred late at night at a popular pizza restaurant located on Glenwood Avenue in Raleigh, North Carolina. The accident occurred during the weekend.
Per investigators, a white four door sedan was entering Raleigh on Glenwood Avenue when its driver exited the road. The car entered the sidewalk where it hit into an outdoor seating area at the patio in front of the pizza restaurant. Luckily, only two people sustained minor injuries when they were hit by the driver. It is not clear whether the individuals who were struck where located on the sidewalk or inside of the patio area of the restaurant when the accident took place.
Glenwood Avenue was closed for a significant period of time following the accident. There is no information available that speaks to what caused the accident. According to arrest records, it appears that the driver, a twenty one year old female from Raleigh, North Carolina is facing DUI charges in connection with the accident.
