A Woman Tragically Dies in Two-Vehicle Accident on Interstate 85
LaGRANGE, GA – According to an online news report at lagrangenews.com, a woman died after being involved in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on Interstate 85 over the past weekend.*
The victim of the accident is identified as a 64 year old female, per a press lease issued by the Georgia State Patrol. The accident happened close to mile marker eight in the mid-morning.
The woman was driving a 1997 Ford F-150 and pulled her vehicle over to the southerly emergency lane. When attempting to change lanes from the emergency lane to the center median, a Pontiac Vibe was unable to stop in time to avoid colliding with her. The Pontiac Vibe struck the back end of the woman’s Ford F-150. The collision caused the F-150 to travel into the median. The vehicle then caught on fire. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of her injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team. It is not clear as to the condition of the driver of the Pontiac Vibe. There are no further details on the accident at this time.
